You can do very lose curls, you can flip but don't expect volume. I have a could of professional flat irons and this one makes my hair the flatest. In fact, i blow it straight before i flat iron, and only iron the sections that are not completely straight so i don't flatten out my entire head. It's a great iron, but it will definetly flatten out your hair.
